Thank you for:
1.
The visit to the open market: After seeing all
the sales in the big and medium stores, Aunt took me to an open market. It was
exactly what I expected to see in France. All shop keepers were out with their
stuff- clothes, fruits, vegetables, flowers, jewelry- it was amazing. The
prices were ok, not that cheap but the sight was great.
2.
Shopping: I bought 2 t-shirts and a coat. I
finally bought a coat! It is black but something very different.
3.
Nap: I napped for 2 hours!
4.
Eiffel Tower: visited it today. It is majestic.
I loved it.
5.
Strategic places: Aunt’s house is by the River
Seine and I can see the Eiffel Tower from here. The TfAll office is by the
river Thames and I could see the Tower Bridge from there. Maybe there is a
reason why I have been staying at such strategic places.
6.
The realization: I love VM and that’s all I need
to know.
7.
The souvenirs: I have seen some really nice
souvenirs here near the Eiffel Tower. I am going to get them.
8.
Food again: had croissants for breakfast with
tea, orange juice, an apricot and white creamy cheese. Lunch was rice, chicken
curry and some salad dinner was ratatouille. That’s a lot of food- and I have
been eating without feeling too full. I am enjoying it!
13 July 2012:
Thank you for:
1.
The Maps: I finally got the maps of Paris.
According to aunt, the guy was flirting with me, but I seemed pretty lost to
her (and to me) and I did not even notice!
2.
Notre Dame: I visited Notre Dame today. Aunt and
I walked around and I wondered what it would be like to attend mass here. We sat
for a while and suddenly they started distributing hymn sheets. We waited for a
short service. The main celebrant (a term I am using loosely) burnt some
incense which drifted in the chapel and the cantor had such a melodious voice.
I felt surrounded by magic and divinity. I was staring at everything (the
service was entirely in French and I was super lost) as everything was surreal.
3.
The dinner: Aunts served veal which she
described as baby lamb or beef. I felt so guilty on eating it. Just like how I
felt when I bought my first pair of kolhapuri chappals and discovered it was
made of camel leather. What crime. I think I will not eat veal again.
4.
Quatorze Juillet: It is tomorrow!
5.
The call to Mum and VM: both these voices are my
elixir.
