Thank you for:
1. Tamatar ki Sabzi that turned out like TKS. It was just right. I also made chapatis. 22 of them and they were thin and nice. Of course, I am going to celebrate my rotis every single time I am surprised that they have come out great!
2. Meeting Kabita: I met this really wonderful girl from Nepal. We hit it off instantly and we spoke about teaching- about whats going on in her country and whats going on in ours. I decided I was going to be there with her only for an hour and I stayed for 3 hours! The conversation was so interesting and I had nothing to do at home anyway, I so I waited. It was fun. I am taking her out sight seeing tomorrow. She is the first one I am going to play guide to- I am taking her to Crawford and the surrounding areas to see trade, then Colaba-University-Gateway. I will try and fit in the museum and art galleries. On another day I will take her to Sanjay Gandhi National Park and she also wants to see my kids. Yes, I think my kids are more worth seeing than the Gateway- in that sense my kids are 'monumental' :p
3. My Kids: They called me up when I was in the mall. I asked them to come over and I bought them some goodies to eat. I know they enjoyed it. The sandwhich was too big for one of them to finish so he asked me to eat the rest. I told him that he could take it home and share it with his sisters. Immediately I knew that the little boy would take it home for his sisters. Either I have been a great teacher, or this boy is a great kid or both. I wept in my heart when he decided to get it packed. A very Happy Raksha Bandhan Day to everyone :)
4. The pride I have been feeling: I am so proud of my kids. The way they speak and what they say. I am so so proud of them. I really honestly feel like I have done a great job.
5. The quiet comfort: I am wondering if I should get a job. I am wondering if I should give up or postpone my dream. At the same time, I need money. I have no idea why I have been feeling like I should earn. This is what I signed up for- no job no money. But today I was acutely aware of the things I have been paying for- I have not been like that. I guess, I am just uncertain. But amidst all this, I have this firm faith that I will be fine. I am glad I can hold on to that.
